ZRF is a UK registered (1140086) sport for development charity founded by professional footballer and Pakistan Captain Zesh Rehman.

Since 2012, ZRF’s programmes have worked with marginalised young people in disadvantaged communities in a number of UK cities. The Foundation’s mission is to use football and other sports as a driver towards community integration and cohesion.

We believe that the football industry can engage excluded and marginalised groups; support young people in education, training and leadership skills; and inspire positive community relations. To this end, we bring together partners from the football, media, business and charity sectors to support young people and bring communities together.

Our work is guided by the following key objectives:

  1. To use football as a force for positive social change and a driver towards community cohesion
  2. To inspire young people from marginalised communities to get back into education & training
  3. To support young people in developing career pathways in or via football and sports industries

"Guided by Zesh’s passion for sport and recognising how football in particular, could be used to enable social cohesion and change, ZRF has developed a number of sports-based programmes and educational initiatives to raise young people’s aspirations, encourage healthy and active lifestyles and provide positive role models."
